Zoltan
HI thanks for looking into this. I have a 94 Legacy Turbo Wagon Auto, I am looking to swap a 5 speed into it. Came across this for sale "1995 Subaru WRX STi V2 5spd transmission 6G-TY752VB4AA -Comes with Recently replaced Exedy Stage1 H22513 Clutch kit, in excellent shape" seems to be JDM, Does anyone know if this would work. I guess I'm asking if the EJ20 tranny will bolt up to my EJ22? Other than matching final drive with the diff (my diff is 3.9, not sure on tranny i just listed above) and geting a clutch pedal set from a first gen legacy, what else do I need to do, or get a hold of. Thanks again for taking the time to look into this!
hankosolder2
I would suggest you steer over to legacycentral.org - it's a site dedicated to first generation turbo legacies. I believe there's even detailed auto>manual swap info over there. Good luck with your project!
Fairtax4me
Should bolt up just fine. All EJ engines have the same shape bellhousing. Some have 8 bolts, some use only 4, but the bolts still line up. Should only be 4 on that trans. Not sure if the 6 speed that early used a hydraulic or cable clutch, but that should be easy to figure out. You may need a 4.11 rear diff to match ratios, but those are easy to find. Any Legacy Outback with a manual 96-99 will have the 4.11. Edited August 9, 2013 by Fairtax4me
