AustRabel
So my loyale is making a funny popping sound under my right wheel well when I turn to the left in 4wd. My car does go into 4wd for sure, but I don't know what the noise is, and it doesn't sound good. Any info would help
MilesFox
Probably a CV axle going bad. Inspect the boots.
l75eya
You're not using the 4wd on pavement right?
scoobiedubie
Do you have a LSD or open slip differential? If it was a limited slip differential, it would have LSD printed on the ID plate. Open slip differentials are more forgiving in turns on pavement, but can bind up. You can hear a LSD break loose in turns on pavement. I avoid using 4WD on pavement, unless on snow or ice. Gravel is OK for 4WD.
BoxerRebellion
I'd put my money on the CV axle. Especially since you said it's when you turn to the left. That's a symptom.

AustRabel
It started when my friend was driving a manual for the first time, and as he shifted into second he pushed the 4wd button on my car. After that every time I take it offroad the noise happens
