Alexx
Will a 1 & 1/2 inch after marker pre-heater hose fit on my 81 Subaru, or do I need to purchase a metric sized pre-heater hose? I have already tried and the diameter seems to be slightly bigger than 1 &1/2 inch. Subaru wants $51.00 dollars for their part. Seems a bit excessive. Snowman
I wouldn't worry about having a slightly larger diameter. Just get some hose clamps and stick it on there.
Alexx
I meant the hose was slightly smaller than the diameter of the tube I'm hooking it up to, and I can't get it to fit. The hose is slowly unraveling everytime I try to put it on.
Aldoat
A metric size will work perfectly. Look in Pep Boys or any such store.
NV Zeno
I've tried several aftermarket versions, none seemed to fit all that well. I did the hose clamp routine and it was functional, but not "just right". I just went over to my local Pick-n-Pull and found a used one in acceptable condition..wasn't too difficult. Now it's "Just like Downtown":) .
Alexx
Another Subaru Dealer can come up with one for $29.00. I should have it Tuesday or Wednesday.
Alexx
Well, I got my Subaru pre-heater hose from Subaru. It's really quite well made. I think List was 40 something dollars and they discounted it by 10 bucks. I don't feel cheated as it is extremely well made, far superior to what you get at the local auto parts store.
