Hatch issues and sound

Featured Replies

The hatch on my 92 legacy wagon doesn't open unless I push the bar down inside the hatch by hand. The previous owner of the car said they bought a kit when the issue first appeared and fixed it but unfortunately it no longer opens. I don't think it's the handle but from what's been explained to me there is a small piece of metal in the mechanism that is bent. I was wondering if there was an easy way to fix this. Also I noticed that when I let go of the gas pedal at higher speeds the car makes a err sound I was wondering if anyone knew what this could be.

Can you elaborate what you mean by "push the bar down inside the hatch..."?  What bar are you pushing down?

You could take off the interior panel to get access to the innards in the hatch and handle.  That's probably what I'd recommend

As for the sound, any chance you could take a video with a phone or something so we could hear the sound?
