Hatch Patrol's XMas Tree Run 2013. 12/07

Recommended Posts

Saturday, December 7,  Greenwater, Forest Road 70.  We'll meet at Mikky D's in Enumclaw at 9:00 a.m. and leave at 9:30 in a group or in groups up Highway 410 to go play in the snow.

You have to have snow tires on your car to join us.  It's a free country,  but if you show up with street tires, you'll get stuck and just piss off the folks behind you that want to keep heading up the trail.   :)

This is a good family fun time.  Leave your asshattery and bad attitude at home.  Kids and friendly dogs welcome.

There is a main parking lot that we set up base camp at.  If your car is somewhat low and the snow is deep higher up, there will be folk with room to take you.

I was wondering about the Christmas tree run this year. I guess I never saw this thread. Glad I saw it now, since it's not too late.

Is anyone thinking of camping in their car overnight? I didn't do so last year, but I want to. I'm thinking of sleeping in my car and leaving on Sunday. Would be nice if I wasn't the only person.  ;)

Last year we met at the one on Roosevelt AVE. I'd imagine it'd be the same one.

The one on Roosevelt (Also more commonly known as Hwy 410) is where we meet at.

That other address is in the middle of farm/pasture land.

Its probably where old farmer McDonald lives.

I think some folks camped last year the night of, but not positive.

I know peacewize camped last year. Someone else too, I think. I actually probably won't be camping. Gonna run to the junkyard Sunday morning. So it'll just be a one day trip for me. Been looking forward to this since last year.  :)

Yep, cold as a witches... But, as always we will ask folks to bring some wood for the bonfire. We will have propane heaters, camp stoves, propane and water. Bring food and drink of choice. Bring a shovel and provisions for getting unstuck if need be. Tree permits still cost $10 for those so inclined. Our day camp location will depend on number of participants. The snow was much higher last weekend than in years past. There are a few nice spots further up too.

Curious as to how much snow we are to be looking forward to? And where is this permit availabe at?

If theres no snow in our usual spot, we'll go higher to find it.

Permits are available at the Ranger Station just up the road from McD's.

Dont wait till the last minute to get it, we all leave together and like to stick together all the way up.

Then Marcus and I went on our little trip:

Then, Marcus decided to get one wheel airborne. He was successful, but we ended up both getting stuck at this point.  :D A little bit of shoveling got us out.
