mike300z
Got my 1989 subaru GL Ea82 spfi running after sitting for 3 months. The passenger side cam gear BROKE into pieces on the highway and had to tow it to my parents where it sat in the garage while i replaced the wheel bearings and timing belts etc. Now its running I think the timing might be advanced alittle to far maybe 25 deg but runs good until you give it more than half throttle then it stutters. I have checked the timing marks MANY times and a friend set the distributor to 30 deg with a timing light. I bumped it back a hair but it still is not running right. NorthWet
Was the timing set with the green diagnostic connectors (near the windshield wiper motor) connected? (They should have been.) Are they connected now? (They should not be.)
