Rich79
Can anyone please help? We have an E81 1.8L motor in a trike and its speedometer is a new harly MPH, Can we change the motor gearing to suit the speedo, so it reads correctly? Thanks People
TOONGA
It would be easier to change the speedo gear in the transmission, but you would still need to split the transmission to do so. Jaycar (I think) does a kit that will change the gearing of the cable to match the speedo. or you could work out where your speed limits are with GPS and pull the speedo apart and put in a KM/H face. ruparts
hi, i would think some of the speedometer specialist shops, have some kind of cable in - cable out box to make corrections like this, it is not an uncommon issue and many hotrodders have done something. aftermarket guage specialist places etc. you might need to know the revs to mph ratio of your harley head unit. tweety
OP posted 6 months ago but I'll reply anyway. My Subaru powered trike has a VW auto. But the speedo pick up is mounted above the inner CV on the axle casing. The Panther speedo (and tacho) are adjustable. Might pay you to call Panther trikes in Gosford. Josef might be able to assist.
