Anybody run into this?

Recommended Posts

So I have an 88 Rx. Whenever I have the fan on it is blowing cold air in the vents. It isn't completely cold when I have the heat turned up but does anybody have any ideas? It is like 18 degrees out and don't really want the cold blowing on me, I want the HEAT. Thx guys for the help.

CLR? What's that?

Pretty sure we have a winner... Wont even run now, but it doesnt smell like fuel after trying to crank it so much, so this leads to the belief that its not getting fuel.

Doing some research on changing fuel pumps, checking them and also SPFI fuel pump vs carb fuel pump (could get my hands on either)

Theres a temp control lever where the water lines come thru the firewall. Its above the gas pedal. It works something like a ratchet gear and sometimes slips out of adjustment.

If your able to position yourself right you can get a a look at it. You can grab the valve and readjust it full open. It might take a little manipulation at first but it might help.

If the valve is fine then its most likely the core. You might be able to flush it from the lines in the engine bay.
