mikeod55
I changed the plugs, wires, coil, PCV and fuel filter. The MAF and EGR seem to be working correctly. The old spark plugs from cylinder 1 and 3 were black and looked carbon fouled. I'm NOT a mechanic! I'm just a broke bastard trying to fix his car! Any help is appreciated. Fairtax4me
Timing could have jumped on the 1/3 cam shaft. Pull the timing end covers and see if the marks line up. Line up the notch on the drivers side cam sprocket with the notch in the cover. Edited November 23, 2013 by Fairtax4me
mikeod55
I have no idea how to do that! Figuring out how to change the plugs was a major, knukle bleeding process for me. If you know of a good video to show me how, I'll do my best? Appreciate the help.
Bushwick
When was the last time the timing belt was changed? i.e. how many miles ago? This video should help: The big sprocket has a notch stamped into it. When that notch is at 12 o'clock, the other sprocket on other side should be as well.
