topsecret Posted November 27, 2013 Share Posted November 27, 2013 it's obd1. there should be two sets of connectors under the steering column that are unplugged, one green, one black plug in the black with the car turned off then turn the key so the power is on without starting the car. the check engine light will flash at you long flashes are first digit of the code short flashes are second digit then look up the code you've just discovered Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Gloyale Posted November 29, 2013 Share Posted November 29, 2013 (edited) Green and Black connectors, not wire colors. They will be up under the dash, Slightly left of the column. Possibly taped with masking tape to the wiring loom that goes into the ECU (computer box under dash) Green connector wires will be orange wire at one side and Black/Red(ground) at the matching one. Black connectors wires will be Red/Black and the match will again be Black/Red(ground) If you can find the Orange wire in the green connector, and the Red/Black wire in the black connector.....you can simply ground them anywhere if you can't find their matches Edited November 29, 2013 by Gloyale Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Gloyale Posted November 30, 2013 Share Posted November 30, 2013 Nah, probably is for real. Easy to replace. takes 10 mins. Just need a 12mm socket on a long extension and a good flashlight. Once you fix it....to clear codes connect both sets of connectors, and start engine, run it 40 secs or more and drive it a few MPH forward/back.....when the light flashes codes are clear.
