yehorkin Posted January 12, 2014 Share Posted January 12, 2014 i am from belarus and now repairing subaru leone 1986 1.8 MPFI , i have problem with engine -- when i starting it up it is working about 10 seconds at 3000 rpm and fade, without Maf sensor engine works at 1500 rpm, but unsteady, i think problem in maf sensor ? how can i check maf sensor ? i have no possibility to take other maf sensor , because subaru leone is very rare car in our country ( excuse me my english) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

naru Posted January 13, 2014 Share Posted January 13, 2014 Your MAF is not in that manual. Probably not the problem. Check it w/an ohmmeter or voltmeter while moving the flap, Sounds more like a large leak in the rubber intake pipe/associated plumbing or PCV hoses. Check fuel pressure too. The MPFi EA82 engine is Rare in the USDM (united States Domestic Market), but very common in the AUDM (Australian Domestic Market), and LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) so, your subie's engine bay looks similar to this one, isn't it?
