darsdoug
I've been hunting around for a used crankshaft I can put in my 99 EJ22 rather than just bagging it and recycling the block halves. The thought of recycling two good block halves doesn't sit well with me for some reason? I'd much rather assemble a shortblock over time. What year crankshafts will work? 86BRATMAN
99-01 ej22 and 02-05 ej20 will work for that block, both have the same stroke.
ivans imports
Can the crank be turned down ?
darsdoug
Can the crank be turned down ? I don't think so. The No.1 rod journal is .87mm smaller than the other journals. Ran it too long with a knock. No bearing was found. Just metal powder in crankcase.
darsdoug
99-01 ej22 and 02-05 ej20 will work for that block, both have the same stroke. Is that the 79mm ?
86BRATMAN
Yes they are both 79mm, the difference between the two is the bore 92 for ej20 and 97 for ej22, cranks and rods are interchangeable.
