nimra
Alright hears the deal. I replaced the turbo with another stock one also replaced the intake pipe with the vacuum lines on it. The car ran when i started but now it fires up and i have almost no throttle response and sounds like it bogs just a bit the kicks back to normal idle when i press the accelerator. I pulled two codes that popped up when i was hunting for a vacuum leak one was a maf sensor(because i unhooked it to find the leak) the other one was for the intake air temp circut high imput. Im so losed with this its not even funny. Any one have some idea of what the heck is going on or where i should start looking??? ps. 05 legacy gt with a simple catback Edited January 26, 2014 by nimra

Fairtax4me
Why was the turbo replaced? Are you sure you reconnected everything properly?
nimra
Shaft play, most likely cause was the tear in the intake pipe right in front of the turbo. By the way after removing the intercooler again to get a good look at the tb the butterfly valve is moving which confuses me more. How can i have it at full throttle and the car just idles? Iv gone over my work many times and everything is in place....
Fairtax4me
Shaft play is always oil starvation or overheating (of the oil). Was it dumping oil into the intake or the exhaust? Did you make sure the intercooler isn't blocked? Is the CEL on? If yes, the ECU could be in limp mode. Jut because the throttle plate is open doesn't mean engine speed will increase. Need to have fuel and spark timing advance from the ECU for engine speed to go up. Also have to have a clear path beyond the TB for air to get in, and the exhaust system must be clear so exhaust can be pushed out. If the Cats are plugged you can open the throttle 100% and it will sit at 900 rpm. Same with the intercooler, if it can't get enough air in. Conversely, the ECU can make the engine run at redline even with the throttle completely closed, just has to give it the right amount of fuel. Was it doing the same thing before you replaced the turbo? Edited January 26, 2014 by Fairtax4me
nimra
The turbo had a little bit of oil in it but wasnt a huge mess. Exhaust was clean.and i had a cel on for the maf sensor being unplugged while i checked for vacuum leaks. So is the oil to the turbo controlled by something like an electronic valve? I do know the banjo filter was clean when i pulled it.
nimra
Well this idiot figured it out. I knew it had to be simple and i would kick my self after i figured it out, X/ appears that someone left a rag in the intake pipe before the turbo.. luckily it didnt get the chance to spool and eat the rag.....
