I'm trying to figure out what i'm going to do for wheels on my 93 Loyale Wagon....

Just envisioned it with those Crosstrek rims to mix new with old.

Anyone do that yet? These rims prob are not easily available though.

I like these peugeot wheels:

Found some old mazda rx7 rims that I might grab (4 lugged).

This ain't easy, but fun ;-)

guidance welcome.

you can do a 5 lug swap, no idea of the pattern is still the same for the cross trek though.  also if your going to retrofit I would look at a 6 lug conversion or stick to the 5 lug with subaru parts.  much more documentation than doing another manufacturer (except the peugeots, those fit on your car stock)

seriously considering crosstrek rims with 5x100 adapters.

this is if i decide to splurge on wheels.

would love to see anyone's L with this setup.

i should probably keep hunting for pugs on the cheap ;-)

The wheels would be more available than the 5 lug parts to use them. You would have to source an xt6 for the rear hubs and front control arms. You could substitue an impreza or legacy hub and strut up front, but you will have to hog out the ball joint hole on the control arm. There is no substitute for the rear xt6 bubs unless you go with a conversion kit adapting it to later model brakes.

I could imagine there being cast-off wheels from the xv if people are buying aftermarket wheels. Everything you need to know search '5 lug swap'. This assumes the xv wheels are 5x100 bolt pattern.

Was looking at getting 4x140 to 5x100 adapters if all else involved is feasible, maybe with a 2" lift.

Haven't done all my homework!

Just entertaining the idea... Might end up with pugs or Toyota rims.

Thanks for the info.

  • 3 weeks later...

I went ahead and bought a set of XV OEM wheels and tires for a fair price.

Don't know when i'll mount them since I still need to source parts or adaptors....

If they don't work out, i'm sure I can sell the wheels and get my money back.

Being my original thread about doing these Crosstrek XV wheels on my Loyale, I should post a picture of the real thing :)

This is with the 2" BOSS lift and 5x100 adaptors.

I havent trimmed yet (slight front rubbing on full turn).

Considering different struts. I have a pair of front Forester struts that I grabbed cheap a while back. Or maybe the late 80s Honda Accord setup.

Rides nice as is so prob not priority but i'll start looking into my options with having adaptor plates and the lift.

Looks Great!

Do the wheels have deep offset or is it the adapters that push them out?

Thanks. A bit of both.  Rims have a 48mm offset + the adaptor/spacer.

I added tail light guards today... a bit hastily, but they look pretty good.

looking back on this thread... really want to get crosstrek wheels for my leggie

Well my head gasket started to leak a few months ago and I decided to get a Lexus GX470. My Subie sits :(

Maybe I will sell the wheels and put on my backup steelies. Fun while it lasted.
