Flat4Love
Hey guys, just picked up my 5th scoob, an 86 DL Sedan fwd. Its in amazing condition, just wondering if anyone knows about throwing velocity stacks / air horns on an ea82 carb. Has that been done? if so what parts were used? Flat4Love
Or what filter could just pop ontop of the carb deleting the air box and exhaist recirc?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
Usually, people here preffer to get rid from the Crappy Hitachi carburator and swap there a Weber 32/36 which is Progressive and gives better low end torque, adds simplicity to the engine bay, and gives a Deep Boxer Rumble sound during acceleration, among other advantages... Kind Regards.
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
Or what filter could just pop ontop of the carb deleting the air box and exhaist recirc? Weber carbs has a pretty Small, squared air filter Box. But you must not get rid of the PCV system: it sends the corrosive fumes created during combustion, from the engine's interior, to the intake manifold, to be burned along the mixture on the cylinders. djellum
adapting a base plate is pretty easy. if you get one that almost fits and is a little big, you can just use a small piece of sheet metal and cut it to fit. glue them together and install/\. Loyale 2.7 Turbo
You're Welcome! ... ... Thank you for your kind words. The answer to your new question is: To close the opening at the Cat, and remove the flexible metallic hose. Kind Regards. jono
make sure you have no confusion between EGR, PCV systems as it is starting to sound like it, and some EGR are not as such but air injection systems. EGR is recirc some exhaust back into inlet manifold, if no actual egr unit on manifold option is air pump which allows filterd air from std air box to be drawn into exhaust. PCV is from and to rocker covers and air is sucked into inlet manifold through that PCV valve below carby.....
