Selling my 1998 XT6 don't know what its worth though.

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to sell my 1998 XT6 it has 117,000 miles on it manual transmission and hasn't been driven in years. We parked it because it smoked, and had problems accelerating. I don't really know what these cars are worth and I'm not sure if I should just scrap it or try to fix it and sell it but the thing is it could be very hard to sell because not many people are looking to buy an 88 XT6.So I guess what I'm asking is if I should scrap it or fix it and how hard it would be to sell once its fixed.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.

Any Subaru worth saving should be saved...any photos would help to determine the price. 117,000 miles is low milage...5-speed,perhaps a diff-lock? Now that is gold for some of us.Parting out before scrapping is also an option (if you have the space and time)...people everywhere always need parts...e.g for the 5-lug swap and such.Back to you.Cheers mate, good luck with the sale.

it's worth whatever someoen is willing to pay which can sometimes be little or sometimes surprisingly high - but in general:

$500, a tiny bit more if the right person sees it and it's in great condition or someone thinks it can be resurrected - which will be tough to determine if you don't know what's wrong with it, so probably on the lower end - like $400.

list it in the "For Sale" section of this forum and over at subaruxt.com

if it's up and running and in good condition then very roughly $1,500 give or take depending on condition, needs, person buying it etc.

$400????  That's crazy talk.  The full 5 lug swap parts alone can fetch than, let alone if engine runs, if the air suspension works, an LSD rear diff perhaps.......man.....

Prices are higher out west here.

I see fwd  XTs go for $1500+ just as basic running transportation.

An XT6 with low miles, running.....with just minor maintainence needs or troubles should still be worth $2000+ and much more if very nice body condition.

Then again Idaho uses more de-icer than we do.  Might be a bit more rust.....still
