BratRod
Weberized Brat GL Been taken around the block almost everyday for the past week, and haven't had any problems. Still runs fine. Starts better in the cold than the Hitachi. Haven't modified anything involving the electrical system except for the stereo using stock power. The wire to the coil appears fine. Do these tend to fail? I haven't seen a scenario quite like this before. Thanks, guys.
BratRod
This problem has seemed to have solved itself for now. No idea what it was, went and started it up today the tach climbed and got stuck. Then it resumed to normal functioning.
turbosubarubrat
If your talking about the rpm gauge the wagon i sold had the same problem in cold weather. Once the cab warmed up it would work fine since it heated up the gauge. Edited February 13, 2014 by turbosubarubrat
BratRod
I wondered if it was the cold. Just didn't seem likely. Thanks for the input.
el_freddo
My L series wagon has the same issue - but in the heat! It's the instrument cluster for some reason... The brumby with the factory 6 gauge instrument cluster doesn't have this issue...Cheers Bennie
TomRhere
Can't say I recall any tach issues in the BRATs during the cold months, but the speedometers sure didn't like it. Could peg the needle in 1st gear. The '88 Wagon don't like the cold either. Both tach and speedometer read slow. Have seen tach jump 500-1000 rpm's when temps are in the 20* F or lower and I head on down the road for work in the AM.
