superclock
I just had the refrigerant refilled on my '97 Legacy GT. It needed 2lbs. The A/C still doesn't blow really cold and on really hot days it just can't overcome the heat. Is there another component that may not be working properly? I hear the clutch engage when I turn on the A/C.
tcspeer
The compresser may be getting weak and not building enough pressure. Have some place that just does A.C. check it.
Commuter
I have a 97 OB. I don't find the A/C to be much more than marginal in my car. Granted, I have more interior volume than you. I don't think you are ever going to get a really cold blast from these vehicles. Commuter
superclock
Have you had the car since it was new?
edrach
Check in front of the radiator and clear away any dirt and debris that might be blocking the cooling area. Two pounds of refrigerant sounds like a lot but I don't know what the system takes (over charging reduces the efficiency of the cooling system). Also, it's strange that a car as new as yours should have been short of refrigerant. Lastly, make sure the 2nd fan (if your car has one) comes on with the A/C.
