selva
Hello to you all, newby on USMB, untill now I owned a car from almost every Japanese car make, mainly Honda (had 7) still have one. Recently I came across to save from a certain death one interesting Subaru and simply had to have it. Still looking for it's origin and vehicle specs because I think its very rare and since we don't have a Subaru dealership in Bosnia It is very dificult to find out anything about this car, so I was wondering if someone from USMB could help me if anyone from here works for subaru service shop or knows a lot about Subaru history which I'm in no doubt i'll find here to help me find out more of this car, I would be very grateful. Vehicle is a Subaru Leone 1.8 4WD Turbo EA82 engine from 1988, runs great, transmission is fine, 4wd also good, need some job on paint and rust and brakes. It has a unique sticker on the rear hood see picture below and a interesting plate below the VIN which says 701/1? Bellow is some more pictures of my new ride, it is in running condition, turbo is good, height control is operational, everything works and i mean every button on this car which is suprising since in hasn't been on road for 7 years (registration expired 04.02.2007) Please, help me to find out more about this car, and excuse my english in advance if there is some mistakes in writing...
soobydoo
Welcome aboard. Here in the US, we know it as the Subaru RX Turbo.
subyrally
it looks like the rx we got here, but i havent seen one with the height control suspension. the badges are interesting, but i couldnt tell you if they are original or added on by a previous owner. those wheels also look different from any that i have seen on a subaru. i wonder if it might have been a demo car or a display/team car for subaru..... interesting.
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
Welcome! ...those wheels also look different from any that i have seen on a subaru. i wonder if it might have been a demo car or a display/team car for subaru..... interesting. The Wheels could be Peugeot or Renault, which also came 4X140. Does they say anything on them? could you post a Photo of any of them, without the Cover for the Lug Nuts? Kind Regards. KiwiGL
Wheels are Subaru or aftermarket, I've seen them in silver onother vehicles before. Also looks like it had foglights at some point, judging by the bumper holes.
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
... looks like it had foglights at some point, judging by the bumper holes. Yep, Bumper Holes and the Halogen's Switch (Button) on the Dashboard:
rpholz
Factory doesn't mount in the top of the bumper I don't believe. My RX had fog lamps and they attached underneath
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
Yes, usually they are attached underneath, but I've seen photos online of Early EA82's and they had factory mounted Halogens on the upper side of the front Bumper, like this one:
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
Seems like Under / Top mounting of Halogens, was Optional, see: Kind Regards.

KiwiGL
Yeah, being from NZ I've seen several JDM top-mounted sets of fogs in yellow, with the pop-up white covers. My friend's mum used to have a JDM silver on navy turbo fulltime 4WD D/R Touring Wagon with the fogs, white 8 spoke 14"s (in a style similar to Minilite), bashplate and height control suspension. Very cool wagon. Wish they hadn't sold it before I got my licence, I loved that car. Sadly, it's probably been wrecked, there's very few L series' in NZ anymore. And the front lip on that red sedan is unique, never seen one like it before with the split look. Edited April 4, 2014 by KiwiGL
Mykeys Toy
That is a very cool car! But it isn't a full time tranny so idk if that would still be an RX I would think GL-10. The height control is nifty though.

tundrabrat
Very cool, good save, especially with working suspension and those sweet light sprayers... It is a nicely equipped GL-10. RX was both a trim and drivetrain package which this vehicle does not have. Enjoy the car, great find. selva
Thanks everyone for positive answers. I apologize i haven't been so much on this site my work duties had been killing me these days. Bumper holes for front Fog lights are certainly factory made, but i will have trouble finding the factory ones. Wheels for this Subaru is pretty hard to find, but I have seen on couple more Subaru's this exact same wheels so i figure they are also product of Subaru.
