brayden
The check engine light came on yesterday when my engine was running. The light was flashing which according to subaru means an ignition problem earlier today water was sprayed on the engine and I am assuming the water may have short circuited something any ideas? Suzam
If the engine runs normally, I would allow it time to dry out by letting it run long enough for the engine compartment to get up to operating temperature. It may just need to dry up some moisture that got in somewhere it shouldn't. Also check for anything loosened up by water pressure. brayden
Turns out it wasn't anything to do with the water in the engine bay. When I was vacuuming the passenger footwell I bumped a wire tucked up under the dash and realised it was unplugged (as it should be) as this is where you hook up the software to the cars ecu, thinking I unplugged it I plugged it back in and tucked it back not thinking anything of it but as it happens the wires nut stay unconnected otherwise the computer throws the flashing MIL
