Do any other years interchange with the 2003 Forester as i am having hard time finding any info.. CNY_Dave Posted March 27, 2014 Share Posted March 27, 2014 The outbacks had a minor change in 2004 where to put a trans from '04 into an '03 car (or vice versa) you need to switch over the transfer duty solenoid and AWD valve. It might show when that sensor change occurred. get that right and match the final drive ratio and you'll greatly expand transmission options.
