Gloyale
It only has 4 gears. Late shift is the RS shift mapping.

Gloyale
when in fourth it sounds like it wants to shift, but then the at oil temp light starts flashing, what is shift mapping? What do you mean "sounds like" it wants to shift. Does it rev up without going any faster? Or just in very high RPM range? What are the RPMs of the engine at 60 mph? sevenz61
it sounds like over reving, at 60mph the RPMs are at around 4grand
Gloyale
Sounds like torque converter is not locking. Toghether with Flashing AT Temp light could mean bad lock up solenoid .(B?) Pulll Codes

sevenz61
the temp light flashed twice, so does that mean the solenoids are good and the problem probably lies with the torque converter?
1 Lucky Texan
have you checked the fluid? Keep the engine idling on level ground, shift to each individual gear for 10-15 seconds, then to Park. Keep idling, pull the dipstick and wipe it. wait 2 minutes. seriously, wait. Check the level.
