Window rubber strips snagging, fix?

Recommended Posts

awp2.jpgAs can be seen in the (evidently humungous) photograph above, when I use the power windows in the Loyale, lately, the rubber will get pulled downward with the glass, making the window motor strain. I've lightly oiled the window before and that worked for a good 2 months, but it's happening again. This happens to all the windows except the driver's side. Does anybody have a good suggestion on how to prevent this?

I think you can adjust the rollers from the inside on how much pressure is on the window, possibly just adjust a smudge of pressure either on the outer roller or the inner one? That sounds like it might help but again just a guess might tinker with one window before oiling again, I just got my windows tinted and was worrying about the rollers damaging the tint but the inside rollers don't seem to touch the windows as much as the outside.

hi,

i had good success with this problem  by opening the gap on the top of the door itself.  the sheet metal inside upper edge where the door trim panel is held,   i just took slip joint pliers and bent the metal back to move the edge back away from the glass "a little",  all the way across the door,   this let that rubber have more room.  and it didn't grab any more like  your pic shows.  you might have good success with the glass adjustment with the rollers but i didn't so another point of view.
