jamesstoll1
I have a 2007 Subaru Outback with tires that measure 225/55R17. A guy in my town is selling the new tires off of a 2014 Forester that measure 225/60R17. Will the Forester tires fit if I purchase? Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide. Best regards, James
MilesFox
It will fit on the rim. the wheel will be roughly the same width, with a slightly taller sidewall. the 225 is width in millimeters, and the 50 or 60 is the percent of that with in sidewall height; an aspect ratio. What you want to be sure of is fitment between the tire and the strut spring perch. This should fit, as the tires will only be slightly larger in diameter. within an inch. If you have more than an inch between your current wheels and the strut perch, go for it. idosubaru
definitely fit the rims. you'll want to see if they'll clear the vehicle - strut bottoms up front are tightest space i've run into when installing tires too big.
