Hinano
Just checked my timing notches and i think I am doing it right but when my cam gears are aligned with the notches, the crank one in the middle points straight down! This may be why I've been missing?
johnceggleston
take a look at these links. make sure you are usuing thre correct marks. when the cam HASH marks are straight up in the 12 o'clock position, crank hash mark (on the rear flange / tab of the sprocket) is also in the 12 o'clock position. (the crank key way is straight down in the 6 o'clock position.) > TIMING BELT ARTICLES <____________________________ > Timing Belt Pictures < what year? model? engine? trans? miles? color? Gloyale
That's the keyway. The mark is on the pulley....on one of the little ears on the back. If the keyway is straight down the mark should be straight up...Timing sounds correct by what you describe. Something else is the miss.
