ystrdyisgone
From what I've heard GL 4x4 kits work just fine. Even if you order an xt6 kit, you get a regular ea82 pressure plate. Unless you pay 170 for one from Subaru..
Suba_GL_87
Actually we already put gl clutch w tranny and put into the vehicle. So... Seem like too late than waste time for pull out and spend for xt6 clutch kits Because of my local technician said never use gl clutch from ej22... Will have a bad slipping problem? When have gl clutch than xt6... Any who experican use gl clutch w ej22? Thanks
Numbchux
I'm sorry....your posts are very hard to read. So I'm really not quite sure what all you're saying. But, I will say, XT6 and EA82ts had stronger pressure plates than a standard EA82. Several aftermarket companies have superceded it all into one part number (I suspect somewhere in between, strength-wise). I drove for awhile with an EJ22 with a used standard EA82 clutch behind it. It didn't last terribly long, but it was used when I did the swap....so I really can't say how well it held up. I have used 2 Beck/Arnley clutch kits (they used the same part number for XT6 and EA82t.....might have changed since then) behind EJ22 swaps with great results. I bought a Duralast (I work at AutoZone now) clutch kit which I think was listed for an EA82t that I plan to put in my Brat behind an EJ18, opened the box to find "Exedy" stamped all over the parts... czny
IIRC there is also some discussion about the flywheel depth dimension being essential to clutch grip pressure. Something about 21mm, 0,821 inch, depth from clutch cover mounting face to friction disc recess face. Some have had their EA82 FWs machined & then running a standard 225mm 4WD clutch with good results. EDIT: here ya go... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/111488-the-strongest-ea-clutch-setup/?hl=%2Bea82+%2Bflywheel+%2Bdepth&do=findComment&comment=935988 Edited May 18, 2014 by czny
Suba_GL_87
Alright, thank for informatics. Yeah, xt6 is more sense for ej22. But however ill leave on gl 4x4 clutch kit ej22, anyway. End of thread.
