I can see in my minds eye these little IHI turbos already off an EA82T with its wastegate vacuum/pressure line self contained sort of thing ? Goes from an outlet on the turbo to the waste gate levers diaphragm - yeah ?

That is a factory non valve adjuster in the mix .....

Yeah, the wastegate actuator vac hose goes from the wastegate to the outlet side of turbo, on the pre-87.5 I believe its just a hose about 2-3 inches long. On mine, which is an 87.5 EA82T those hoses go to a boost selenoid on passenger side strut tower first instead of just going from wastegate to turbo outlet.

And I have a boost gauge set up off the intake manifold from where an old sensor was, or you can just T in at any vac line off manifold. Anywhere on the manifold after throttle body will be a good place to show boost pressure.

Now I'm kinda lost, I have my 87.5 GL with EA82T and an 87.1 RX with EA82T and they both have those same resistors or switches that Angerthis posted in pics.. aren't the pre 87.5 and post 87.5 turbo vaccum lines set up differently?? like older one doesn't use boost selenoid?

when I got my RX the wastegate vac line went from wastegate straight to turbo outlet side. most the vac lines on my RX were all switched around and messed up so I thought i'd just copy my GL vacuum..

Could someone help with these vacuum switches..? Haha now im lost with my RX vacuum lines too

the bigger vac line thats farthest from front of car on vap cannister? mine goes to a T into the rubber intake boot on turbo.. once im out of school today i'll see where the other vac line from that T goes. im pretty sure it goes to one of those sensors/switches that you posted in pics

so what is this?

and do i run any vac hose from turbo 2 char-col can ?

the top sensor in pic goes to a T about 2 inches off of it. one line goes toward cab to the small vac canister behind strut tower, and the other line off of the T goes to the intake. after the throttle body.. theres a spot on intake to put vac line thats the rear passenger side intake runner about half way between injector and throttle body.

the bottom sensor connects to to a T on the intake side of the turbo on the rubber boot, like i was saying with the charcoal canister hose.. mine has the 'T' metal piece in the intake boot, its pointing toward front of car when installed. the big hose on the charcoal canister thats closest to the cab of car goes to the T of that sensor

if anyone with more experience in EA82T vacuum could help confirm my logic that would be greatly appreciated

OK, surely the pics of those two solenoids are same as my 85'86 Series 1 turbo. My 85, just before I dismantled, I disconnected, believe now, for I left it to my memory, with top one disconncted, the boost light in dash still worked. So, I think the bottom one is for bost light in dash, and top one must be ECU overboost protection solenoid. Again, from memory, both of these were connected vacuum wise with a T junction nearby and a further junction where one end, yes, went to the cylindrical gadget plastic up on RHD drivers side strut tower to firewall space. Cylinder has two hose ports , labeled 1 and 2.

The vac supply for all this and more - vacuum controls in dash - came directly from intake manifold, near RHD brake booster vacuum port with T junction goin' off to the solenoids in ya picture

easy :)
