catsdaddio123
Driving home last night, 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback 2.5 was running fine when all of a sudden it turned rough and Check engine light started flashing. Previous to this, there had been some very intermittent missing, which my mechanic attributed to bad gas/clogged injectors. I ran some Sea Foam through and everything seemed ok.Apparently there is a cylinder not firing. Any ideas on where to start?

jp98
Odds are that if it was flashing it stored a code. Get it read and then go from there, a tune up never hurts.
johnceggleston
new plugs and wires are almost always a good idea, especially if you have not replaced them in several years. but if it started running ruff, all of a sudden maybe the timing belt slipped a few teeth. how old is the timing belt? how many miles? how long have you had the car, miles? any recent work?
lmdew
Get the CEL Codes first. Then apply the suggestions above as indicated by the code.
