Uberoo Posted June 6, 2014 Share Posted June 6, 2014 Of the people that still make adapter plates, who makes the plates with the upper holes siamezed so a single offset bolt goes through the adapter plate to both engine and transmission?I'm looking to remake the steel plate I made along time ago.Tired of having to drill out the holes on the engine.So I'm looking for some of the offset bolts... Scooner Posted June 7, 2014 Share Posted June 7, 2014 When i did mine i just welded two bolts together and it worked great. Uberoo Posted June 9, 2014 Author Share Posted June 9, 2014 yea,I was thinking of sliding the engine and transmission together,and putting some bolts through each one and welding them together where they meet.Then modify the steel adapter plate so they fit. That's why the factory threads in the EJ block are nearly an inch deep. you don't want just a couple threads of aluminum holding your engine and trans toghether. If I were to run an aluminuim plate, it would be with siamesed bolts.....you're on the right track Uberoo. I would not trust on;y 1/2" of M8 threads. 4play Posted June 28, 2014 Share Posted June 28, 2014 hope you dont think I am highjackung this thred,but I just bolted a pitch stopper bracket from a legacy trans to the dr I have in the garoge. hope to get the adaptor plate cut out ot 1/4" plate this weekend, just need to see a pitchure of the top two bolts, getting closer to having dualrange.
