seanclearwater
So I parked my Loyale, changed the valve cover gaskets, reconnected the wiring connectors I disconnected, and now it will not start. I found that it has no spark on any cylinder. So far I have; Checked to see that that distributor is turning. It is. Replaced the cap and rotor (needed to be done anyway) Checked all fuses and fusible links (all good) Checked make sure that the check engine light comes on showing that the computer is awake. Shined up the grounds around the engine bay. Replaced the coil with a new one after the old one tested slightly out of spec (no change) Checked to make sure that the coil is receiving power. I has 12.5 volts on the + terminal, and like 4.5 if I recall on the - terminal. I have been told this is normal. Things I want to try but have not. Shine up the coil bracket /firewall so that is well grounded. (I dubious on this one, but hey..) Check the ignition switch relay (I can't imagine this is not working, why would everything be receiving power, but still have no spark) Check that the crank angle sensor on the distributor is outputting a signal. Crazy idea, the distributor is connected with 4 wires, Red, Black, White, Green. Some previous owner wired it up with spade connectors. I disconnected this while doing the valve cover gaskets, and reconnected it Red to Red, Green to Green and so on. Any chance that the colors should not match, harness to distributor? Am I on the right track? Any other ideas? Thanks, Sean

Wire colors change through the connector. Try swapping the Green and White.
seanclearwater
Thanks a ton Gloyale. I was pulling my hair out big time. She's running like a champ now. In any event, I'm off to Japan to burn that electrical engineer's house down. -Cheers.
