opus
I suppose I can whack these things and break them. Any easy suggestions? Radiators not coming out, I just want them gone incase I have an issue on the road.
Gloyale
you must remove the pulley
BlackBoot
I used a dremel rotary tool to cut the center cover in half and remove it from around the pulley, and it can still be re attached in 2 parts without removing the pulley. Or just take off the pulley, there is a hole in the flywheel you can put a punch in to hold the crank still (a bit more difficult on an automatic just jam something in there), and use a breaker bar on the pulley, no need to remove the rad. opus
I've done a bunch just not without removing pulley.....and I didnt want to remove the pulley just for this. Too hot to have ambition.
BirdMobile
Mine were badly melted... I removed all the bolts holding the covers to the engine, then broke the remaining cover pieces off. Been running the timing belts "naked" since my rebuild, over a month now of both on and off road, no problems yet.
opus
Well that was about a 3 on the fun-o-meter. Took all the bolts off and whacked it in half and got them out.
