john in KY
Disconnect the E-brake cable at the caliper. You will need to recess the pistons in the calipers when you get around to installing the new pads. The pistons have to be screwed in. There is a little tool for this but I've done it with just a dull chisel
Mtbakeris
I replaced the brake pads and got it back on the router but it doesn't seem to be breaking when I slam on the break it pulls to the left. Do you think my caliper piston is shot. My brake pedal can go all away to the bottom and it doesn't seem to have much resistance to it. help please an thank you. -suburat
Dirk
Sounds like you need to bleed the system. Have a look on Youtube. There are hundreds of videos detailing how to do this with a friend or by yourself. You would be wise to bleed the whole system starting at the master cylinder and then the furthest away (rear right). Be patient, get lots of new brake fluid and remember keep the reserviour topped up all the time. Ask a silly question... Did you replace pads on both sides? The pads will need bedding in before they give you full stopping power. Cheers Dirk
