wtdash
Hi, I just bought an '02 WRX w/an AUTOMATIC that needs a new transmission - car doesn't move on its own @ all, per PO. On ebay is a JDM 4EAT : TG5C7CBAAA-Y1 Does anyone know if there's an interchange chart for the ATs? I've seen the manual 5/6-speed chart on NASIOC, etc. but nothing for the 4EATs. I know the US-spec is a 4.11 FD Ratio. Neither the Seller on ebay nor my local Subie dealer can confirm the ratio. Thanks
AdventureSubaru
Not aware of a chart, but I think the 2000-04/05ish only came in 2 gear ratios. The 4.44 was foresters and outbacks - 4.11 was legacy/impreza as best I know. Here's the thread from a few years ago that educated me. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/124712-about-to-do-my-first-4eat-swap-have-a-few-questions/?hl=4eat We ended up swapping a forester trans in and it is still driving to this day. If you can confirm that yours is a 4.11 you should be safe with a trans out of any 2000-04 Legacy. I'd take each trans as a case by case basis and try and look up the ratio of each trans code just to be sure. Or just swap a matching rear diff and not worry about it. wtdash
Thanks for the replies. Japan 's / JDM stuff doesn't always follow USDM specs, esp. for the turbo models.
johnceggleston
first , google the number. next look for the number in the europe section of hyyp://opposedforces.com/parts look at the WRX trans for similar years as yours. if you find the trans number, then look up the rear diff ring and pinion in the ''train'' section. wtdash
Thanks John...I didn't think to check the Europe models. They show the same part number for the trans:TV1A4YN2AA And this for the FD under Train: Differential assembly-rear 1 27011AA680 4.111 VISCOUS LSD '01, April — '02, Octobe
