simtso999
Hi All, I am new to this and need some help from you all. I am not a mechanic and I am in MA. I am getting a 2003 Legacy L 2.5L AWD with no engine in it. I was told it had a California Emmisions Engine/ EGR type engine. I have my wiring harness present. The Exhaust from the engine to the part under the front seats removed. I will be needing the manifolds all the way to that bolt on piece under the car, specifically under the from seats. Part of the Bell Housing coming off the tranny was broken off where the starter in located. I am not sure if the Bell Housing can be replace even though I see a few bolts that attach it to the tranny unit. I will need some advice on this part. (pic attached) What engines will fit this vehicle and are there any specific things I can look out for? I am trying to make the right choice of parts on the get go. Does anyone have a good used engine or can point me in the right direction for parts for my project. I HAVE ATTACHED 3 PICS TO HELP EXPLAIN MY LENGTHY WRITE UP. Thank you all. Gloyale
The bellhousing of the trans is actually the Front differential too........That one is done for. I would say get a new transmision as repalcing the bellhousing and re-setting up the front diff will be far more in labor than just swapping the trans.
