Subarocket
I've picked up some Tempo front springs and Accord rear springs for my 92 Loyale. I've got a lift kit and plan on cutting the accord sprigs so I'm not doubling up on the lift. When you cut the accord springs I've heard that you cut a coil and a half off to retain stock length. Do you cut off the bottom or the top? Do you have to worry about not having the full coil that sits flat? Thanks!
TheLoyale
I always cut the tops of the springs. With the Accord springs, you could also cut the top. I would rather have it seat flush in the perch of the strut. By the way, the accord springs sit perfect in the EA82 rear struts. I didn't cut mine, and now need to run a 5" kit in the front to make the car sit level (More lift the better!) -Tom
Ibreakstuff
+1 always from the top, the top mount has a better fit for a cut spring.

marcusgl10z28
I never cut mine... my kit got biult arount the 2 inches over so I run a 6" out rear and a 7.5 up front.. rear sits a little higher thus eliminating sag w a load
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
I never cut the Accord's front coil springs, when I used them along the original Subaru rear shock absorbers with flat base; Nor when I use them with the 4Runner shock absorbers with non-flat base; they work really Awesome like they are from factory. Kind Regards.
