subarubrat
I believe he used Duplicolor vinyl and plastic paint. It is what I have used in mine as well. Its pretty durable. Yes, correct. Normally duplicolor has me running away but after seeing the results in some very nice vintage cars with unobtainable interior parts I was convinced, good stuff! subarubrat
That terminator in the back ground of that pic is awesome!!! Eh eh, always fun to watch the reaction when someone who hasn't seen him before walks around the corner! A friend's girlfriend actually would not be in the house by herself because of it!

subarubrat
I finished the rest of the interior parts today and took the truck to a local detailer who has a steam carpet machine and they did a wonderful job on the carpet, about a 9 out of 10 now but I will still look for a NOS one. The most important remaining parts I need are some OEM seats and I am looking for new or like new and if you have any please PM me!!
turbosubarubrat
Get your seats reupholstered i'm sure you could find a close color/pattern to match and they refoam the seats to your liking. A 82 brat i bought and fixed up had a set that looked almost new.
subarubrat
IF I had Brat seats in my truck I would, but they were replaced with seats from a Loyale.
subarubrat
I thought I had posted these earlier, the part number for the bed trim clips, subaruparts.com has them: 7910 17200 You need two of these 7910 17130 And 18 of these
Flowmastered87GL
IF I had Brat seats in my truck I would, but they were replaced with seats from a Loyale. And to be really authentic... they would have to be from a BRAT as GL seats may either have a foot access pedal on the passenger seat or movable headrests or both. I am sure you know this, but 82's should have the awesomely ugly flannel upholstery.
subarubrat
Awesome ugly, nice! Funny I took the truck by a friend's store today and his cashier asked what the funky truck that looked like a dune buggy in the parking lot was! Subaru does its best when it is weird and different and not trying to be Honda or Toyota.
subarubrat
Got it back with the targa stripe on, I suck at decals so I got it done at the shop where I had the paint done. I am still looking for seats, and a few minor bits that I would like better condition for. I am going to take it to cars and coffee this weekend, there are about 200~400 amazing cars there every Sat, anything from a pre WWI steam car up to the latest exotic and something like the Brat fits right in.

subarubrat
I went to my usual cars and coffee in Great Falls and despite it being a crappy day weather wise there was an OK turn out, usually 300ish cars but today about half. I got interviewed by a historic vehicle group and turned them on to the Ronald Reagan Brat story, really nice guys.

subarubrat
Thanks, my goal is to be able to pull it out of the garage 20 years from now and show people how awesome these trucks are! I am immediately failing in two objectives, I planned to never take it out in the wet or on snowy (salted) roads. Thus far I drove it in the wet to Cars and Coffee, and today drove it to work with the forecast being a 10% chance of snow after midnight, so at 7pm I drove home in the snow. Loyale 2.7 Turbo
But that is nothing so severe... A good wash and it will be Ready for the storage, again. What is the point of having a Car that you can't enjoy, after all? Kind Regards.
subarubrat
With the BRAT mostly finished it is time to look at the next project. About a dozen years ago or more I bought a BRAT go kart body from Moosens the Great and it has been hanging in my garage and I think now is the time to do something with it. My plan is to have the body shop duplicate the BRAT paint job and my original idea was to use a shifter kart to get crazy performance out of it. But today we have electric that can give better results and be much less temperamental. I am certain I can build a brutal fast kart under this body.
Flowmastered87GL
Yes! I too have a dream to build a better than original brat go kart someday. (FYI I am the person who sold you the grill for the first lifted 82 you did around 10 years ago.)
