tbolt1003
The heater core in my '95 Impreza is leaking and needs to be replaced. I've bypassed the core for now, but with winter approaching, I need to get it replaced. I've read-up on how to do it and what's involved, but I just don't have the free time to do it right now. It was 35 degrees yesterday morning on the ride into work and not having a windshield defroster or heat didn't put me in a good place. If I supply the parts, anyone in the Philadelphia suburbs (Delaware, Chester County area) willing to do the work for me at a fair price? I went to the dealer for a quote and almost had a heart attack at the price they gave me. Thanks!
tbolt1003
I found a reputable shop willing to do the work at a fraction of the cost the dealer wanted.

1 Lucky Texan
I found a reputable shop willing to do the work at a fraction of the cost the dealer wanted. That's great - if you think they are really doing a miserable job at a reduced price, consider showing up with some breakfast snacks when you pick-up the car, or Lotto scratchers for the tech and owner. I had a guy at an appliance store pass-up an easy way to get money from me and go out of his way to show me a free way to fix a dishwasher. Took him a coupla Lotto scratchers. It may not always work - but sometimes it gets you some consideration in the future if you have an emergency or need some xytra/special services
Suzam
Not sure where you went but for the future service Fulmer's Garage on Park Ave in Media has a couple of mechanics that have their own Subies. My daughter takes her 99 OBW there for most of her services.
tbolt1003
I'm familiar with Fulmer's. That's good to know about the mechanics there.

tbolt1003
Menta's Sunoco, corner of Rt352 & Glen Riddle Road. I've actually been using them for my car repairs for 15+ years and didn't think to ask them about something this involved. They quoted me about $550 less than the dealership. skelly
Thanks! Next time need a repair, will try either Menta's or Fulmer's - close enough - and will post feedback.
