1-3-2-4
So I got everything back on but the brake shoes are rubbing on the drum.. if you drive for awhile it stops, but as soon as you press the brakes it will rub again more and the cycle goes on.. I had to adjust the star wheel all the way in as that was the only way to get the shoes to fully go in so I could slide the drum over the shoes. it's self adjusting so I don't see what's going on now. Dinky26
Sounds like one of the stupid many springs isn't hooked up right. When I tore into the 99 Forester earlier this year, it drove me insane with the stupid springs, had to cross reference with the opposite side to make sure I was doing it right, along with pictures from the Internet. 86BRATMAN
Is this happening on one or both sides?

mikaleda
Did you clean and lube all the drag points with antiseize? Maybe its a restriction in the rear brake line, try cracking a brake bleeder when it does this and see if it relases
