TPaul
My 1992 subaru loyale broke timing belt due to tensioner seizing. Belts replaced with marks on crankshaft pulley 180 or opposite with flywheel set at middle mark. Car would not start. Has spark and TDC and distributor seem fine. Has gas. Any suggestions? moosens
Are timing covers off now? Are marks still where they should be?
stratman977
I bet your'e 180 off on the timing, basically sparking on the exhaust stroke. try swapping the wires for the front two cyls and the back two on the distributor and see if it fires. Which cam did you set first when you changed the belt? Edited December 6, 2014 by stratman977
mikaleda
I'd double check timing marks
MilesFox
rotate the crank again and then drop in the disty. The procedure requires 360 deg crank rotation between belts, and then again to find the #1 tdc just after the initial mark for the first belt
