rgonzalezj84
93 legacy wagon, awd, stock blinking power light says duty c is issueOK, i finally had time to lift my subi on jack stands and see how the wheels turnedfirst: i lifted on side unplugged the tcu started car and put in neutral spun back tire and nothing happened (two tires were on the floor two in air, heard that by doing this the front should spin also)second: i lifted both sides and spun rear tire with engine off, one tire moved other stayed un-moving (the rear tires moved separately, i thought with rear diffs if you spun one tire the other should also pin if anything the other way)third: i plugged tcu back in started car and put in gear, rear wheels tried to move then stopped while the engine idled and spun front wheels, then hit gass and the rear spun "fast" but considerably slower then frontFourth: put in FWD fuse and tried again..... same as the third but the rear spun ....better?!i am confused as to what is wrong, one person said a leaking seal inside the tail housing can make the AWD not engage but why is it engaging with the FWD fuse in? also all this was done when the trans was in the 3rd and i also tested the last to things with the manual button on and off. CNY_Dave
Are you sure the trans code is for duty c failure? The trans can only detect if the current is too high (shorted) or too low (open). Either case, the AWD would be locked on. Engine idling TCU connected has a very small amount of front-rear 'lockup'. TCU disconnected it should be max lockup. TCU disconnected, all 4 wheels in the air, both rears spun (or one spun and one held still) yes, one front should spin.
