bobburito Posted December 16, 2014 Share Posted December 16, 2014 so i have been working on my 88 subaru gl-10 its got the ea82t in it done the head gaskets put it all back together and she purs like a kitten engine is very smooth no shaking when idles its perfect high revs just fine but when i put it in gear and put a load on it and drive all my power goes away and tops out at 15 mph i have checked the timing and rechecked a set it about 5 more times after that and im sure its dead on even my rotor is set to cylinder 1 on tdc im looking for possible problems that would starve it for power maybe egr valve? oxygen sensor im not sure would love to hear some feedback thanks guys keep in mind this car sat in the weather for 9 years never ran till i got it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

DaveT Posted December 16, 2014 Share Posted December 16, 2014 Should be a big plastic cover under the steering wheel about over your lower legs when driving. Remove it. Engine error led is visible in a hole in the ecu box, mounted to the bottom of the steering column. Count the long blinks and the fast blinks. That is the 2 digit error code. mikaleda Posted December 17, 2014 Share Posted December 17, 2014 A car sitting that long I would check the exauhst for restictions/mouse nest. I had this happen on a brat that I worked on that sat for a couple years. I revved up the engine for a while and poof! Out came a nest. Possible vaccume leak? Fuel filter?
