Greetings from North Dakota

Hello all, I am the proud new owner of a 2015 Subaru Impreza as of the 17th of December.  I traded in a 2014 Chevy Spark and a 1995 Tiffin Allegro Bay motorhome for the new shiney.  I live quite a distance from the nearest dealer, so I had plenty of time to get to know the car on the way home.  This is my first Subaru vehicle, although I do have fond memories of the late 70's and 80's cars with their squared off designs, cool proper dual range 4x4 transmissions, and that instantly recognizable Subaru sound from their engines.

While those things are all in the past, I'm pleased with the new ride.  The car was showing 39.9 mpg on the mileage computer on winter gas, with a somewhat hilly drive, a green engine, and temps in the teens.  I'm a bit of a slowpoke, and keep my speeds down to 55 mph on the highways, so I do routinely exceed EPA ratings by a wide margin.

Granted the Spark and Impreza are completely different classes of cars, I have to say that it is a tremendous relief to be in a car that isn't buzzing in complaint at being on the highway, and getting knocked about like a football in wind.  I'm hoping to keep this car for a very long time.   :)

I'm sure I'll have a few questions pop up as time goes by and I find this and that in the car.

And now for a couple of links to the pics of the car in my FB page.

Welcome aboard, Wolfman--you sound like a true Subaru nut already!  Car looks beautiful, and 39.9 . . . Wow!

Don't know how much help we can be since most of us are driving 15 to 20 year old Subaus (and love them!)  But please do keep us up on what you learn.  Enjoy!

My Aunt had a Subaru XT Coupe, as did one of my bosses back when I worked retail in high school and college.  My old High School buddy had a mid 80's FWD 2 door hatch, and a 70's FWD coupe that he rattle can painted black.  I had my own eyes on a late 70's wagon that a neighbor was considering selling until vandals totaled it when I was in high school.  One of my "bosses" when I had paper delivery in Middle and High School had one of the dual range 4x4 coupes.  I've been around a fair number of the cars and they do have a soft spot in my heart.  One thing that I had dreamed of doing was cramming an XT6 engine and transmission into a Brat.  That never came to fruition sadly.

It took me a long long time to get one, but yep, I finally do, and I can feed the sickness.  :D
