msmithmmx
Hello Everyone. I am usually asking for help with my 98 OBW 240K.. I have a 2012 with analog climate control. Can I just swap in a digital control or is there more to it? Thanks..
gbhrps
msmithmmx, Since the digital system has the ability to allow both passenger and driver to set their desired temps differently, one has to assume that there must be additional door actuators (motors) to allow both sides to open two different blend doors separately. And that suggests that the heater box for the HVAC unit will be different that the analog system. Then, where is the computer hidden for the digital system? And what, if any wiring harness differences will there be? I see a whole pile of issues that say you may be best just leaving well enough as is.
nipper
No you can't. There are multiple sensors, controllers, doors that would need to be added, not to mention the wiring.
msmithmmx
Hello. thanks for the input. I know there is no way the dual zone would work but I still wonder if the plugs are the same and if the driver side would take over and control the entire car. nipper
Nope even the single zone is completely different. I have the dual zone in the 2005, and i find myself fiddling with it as much as i did the manual system.
