angerthis Posted January 27, 2015 Share Posted January 27, 2015 Is the common for a 92 EJ 2.2 liter To burn an exhaust valve on number 1 cylinder because this car I just picked up hase 0 compression i the number one cylinder And 150 and all the rest Check the timing its good just fouls out number one spark plug or is it a slim chance that valve stuck or broken spring? Fairtax4me Posted January 27, 2015 Share Posted January 27, 2015 I bought a 95 wagon with a burned valve on number 1. Engine had been overheated as well. Head gasket was blown out on 4 and I think it ran low on coolant which contributed to the burn. Whole cooling system on that car was a mess, except for the spankin new radiator! I did a leak down test I heard no air coming back from the intake nor did I hear anything coming out of the oil dipstick it definitely sounds like it's coming out the exhaust I think more likely it's only one or two of them?
