Different cars came with different final drive ratios and that must be a match between the trans and rear diff. The general rule is that Legacy Outback , GT and Impreza RS are the same (4.11). And Impreza (Non RS and Legacy non GT or Outback) are the same. (3.90) http://www.gearhack.com/myink/ViewPage.php?file=docs/Subaru%20Transmission%20Chart Match the trans codes to the chart to see what yours is and what potential donors are.
