Crawlerdan
well, you have a r160 rear diff, so, any other r160 will work just find out which ratio you have, and select accordingly.
its_masters
As said above, as long as the ratios are the same as the tranny, the diff will work. I just bought a new tranny with a matching diff to put in my outback from a 97 impreza.
johnceggleston
what years for sure would be compatible with my 99 2.5 MT outback rear differential? the 99 MT 2.5 cars, have the 4.11 final drive ratio. 96 - 99 ej25 cars, MANUAL trans - all have the 4.11 read diff final drive ratio. (not sure about the impreza RS) so you can use any of these. 96 - 99 ej25 legacy manual trans - outback, GT, forester 98 ej25 forester manual trans - all (probably 99 as well) but you can also use and rear diff from the ej22 & ej18 AUTO trans cars, 95 - 99, including 95 - 99 ej22 legacy auto trans - L, LS, Brighton 95 - 99 ej22 imprzas auto trans - ALL 93 - 97 ej22 impreza autor trans - ALL why do you ask? 1997reduxe
because my car i bought it from a guy who had run it over a curb and its been a journey figuring out all the damage it needed bearings and brakes my first mechanic told me which was ok it probably needed them anyways but the right rear wheel was still at such an angle it couldnt be aligned, so i took it to another guy a body/frame shop and he said right off it was the spindle. now the rear diff has gone, and my regular mechanic doesnt want to replace the parts hed rather just replace the whole thing. ive found one for not too much 125 or so. and thanks everybody and esp you john i havent been on here for a while and i see youre still the font of knowledge and help you always were. gotta love usmb!
