Loyale 2.7 Turbo
... Such a shame too, chasing the USA market has meant Subaru has lost a lot of their uniqueness and IMHO, character. Sad but True... Have you noticed that there has been happening some sort of "Standardization" worldwide, Now Computers all look alike, also Cellphones, TV's, etc ... even Cars; you can see -in example- that the Rear of a Ford sedan, looks pretty close to the Rear of a Kia sedan, etc... etc... etc... so Subaru is only part of such movement of worldwide Standardization, not exactly like ISO 9000, but almost everything in the market, looks alike their competitors. Even my Sony Camera, is almost identical to my father's Samsung Camera... At least, Subaru preserves their Boxer Engines & Symmetrical All Wheel Drive as Flags. I'm Missing the Frameless & noisy windows... Kind Regards.
Leeroy
Ahh... Frameless windows! It WAS what made a Subaru a Subaru. Miss them, wish they would come back.

Miss them, wish they would come back.i like them but i dont like them, their cool to have and unique, especially when you roll your window down and shut the door, its different, but when your trying to calibrate the door and window due to the seal being old and doing weird things, it can be a pain, if you don't get it right, you'll hear this annoying wind sound over 40mph, took me a couple hours to get mine right since the original owner didn't care how he treated the door. Kind Regards. i compleately agree with you! i can't remember the models of the vehicles now but every once in a while, i see 2 cars with the same back end and the only thing that separates them and makes them different is the logo badge, sad sad world.. and i bet you subaru only does the boxer and AWD only because it helps sales, not because they care anymore about anything. theres a toyota suv that looks similar to a subaru outback or forester, can't remember now. comatosellama
The answer to this thread is...... YES! http://autoweek.com/article/car-news/no-turbo-subaru-brz-sti-confirmed-america
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
The answer to this thread is...... YES! Not exactly. A Turbo BRZ is not necessary a Second Gen BRZ, Only a more "Optioned" version of the same... Also, the last paragraph says: Subaru says, though, that it has no plans for a turbo BRZ production model. Loyale 2.7 Turbo
Maybe this is a Good Compliment to this Thread: ~► http://jalopnik.com/what-nobody-understands-about-the-subaru-brz-1698728189 Edit: This is an Excerpt: In America, car culture seems to always be about the Big Numbers. Zero to 60. The quarter mile. Top speed. Nobody cares how a car actually drives, or the experience it delivers, or how it makes you feel, just how it puts down the Big Numbers. This is why the Subaru BRZ has a hard time fitting in. Kind Regards. Edited May 1, 2015 by Loyale 2.7 Turbo

Loyale 2.7 Turbo
What I have been seeing across many YouTube Videos, is that they took a Shortcut to Much More Power, and instead of turboing the Subaru Engine, they've done an inline 6 cyl. engine Swap with the Toyota 2JZ engine... ...it is somehow like we Swapin' the EA engines with EJ engines in the old-school Subarus' scenario, but much more Dramatic, see an Example: From the 3:06 minute, see: Or this 2JZ-BRZ Driftin' This Jalopnik Article covers the Subject: ~► http://jalopnik.com/whats-the-most-insane-toyobaru-engine-swap-to-date-1656142164 Seems like I posted the Daily Dose of Subaru Porn for Today Kind Regards.

wagonist
Any word on this? Having now driven around your west coast & north east corner, I can see why cars like the BRZ aren't popular. Your roads between everywhere are dual highways. To find any roads that suit the BRZ, you need to get quite a ways out of any population areas, and then still get even further off the highways. Your cheap gas doesn't help it either. Also doesn't help that whenever you find a nice mountain roads, that there's mile upon mile of double yellow line. There were many places near Yosemite that had this which would have allowed passing in Aus. I started to resort to passing on double yellows out of frustration, despite the 1.5L auto Mazda I was driving not having much grunt (or maybe because of ) In places like Europe & here, where fuel is a lot more expensive (it's about double in Aus), and our single lane roads through mountains are more easily accessible & twisty, the BRZ & Toyota make a lot more sense. BTW, I miss the amount of V8 burbles now that I'm home. Still get some, but nowhere near as many...
Subasaurus
i can actually count on my hands how many brz's ive seen total in my city over the years, FRS i see like one a day, and the one with the toyota logo ive only seen 2, Brz's about 7ish-9ish total. Loyale 2.7 Turbo
I've seen Few of those in Honduras, all of them were sold at the Local Toyota Dealer. The BRZ already Came to Honduras! ... Well, Somehow: I was driving in a traffic Jam in front of the Local Toyota dealer the other night, and I was able to pull out my Cellphone and Shoot this Photo of their Showroom: Not a very clear photo ... that Black FT86 is already sold. Kind Regards. Kind Regards.

That is because Subaru only makes one BRZ for every ten 86 (FRS) that comes down the assembly line. It is not just related to sales figures, there are simply less BRZ's to actually buy..

I think subaru runs a lot on word of mouth/ return customers. I'll be buying from them no matter what unless I need a real truck.
