thornleyjacob
Guys/Gals, Phil Nelis from Australia has made copies of the 14" Scorpion Wheels from Australia. We may have tracked down a US vendor who can bring them over with their shipment of King Springs; Primitive Racing. Would people be interested in these? To get a general idea of pricing, Phil had quoted be $120.00 AUD per wheel (~$90.00 US) plus shipping. Shipping is the major cost in getting them here but Primitive Racing seems keen on bringing these over to the USA if enough people are interested in them. They would require a deposit for the wheels that people want; so please respond to this post if you are interested. Here are some pictures of the wheels in black and white. EDIT - April 30th, 2015: He got back to me rather quick today. ..................................................................... Yes, likely $100USD per wheel and then about $230 shipping for 5 to Medford. Send the $150 deposit via PAYPAL to: sales@get-primitive.com Will REFUND if this thing does not get off the ground. The post out on the board needs to be much CLEARER. As usual, everyone replies to the post and does not contact ME (like you and just 2 others did) These are REPLICA Scorpion wheels out of Australia. Those interested should email their name/address/phone info to us and exactly what they are looking to get (i.e. qty = 5 BLACK painted Brumby wheels 14x6 4x140) Deposits will need to be made soon, as the wheels must get to the DOCK in BRISBANE by about May 25th. EXACT wheel cost and EXACT shipping still need to be determined... but my above estimate above is likely pretty good.Primitive Enterprises, Inc 9460 SW Tigard St Suite 104 Tigard, OR 97223 9:30am -5:30pm PST M-F 503-624-2139 ............................................................................... thornleyjacob
I'll be buying no matter what - actually been looking at about $800.00 - $1000.00 US for a set of 5 including the international UPS/FedEx/DHL shipping (basically $200.00 per wheel); just know a lot of people want 14" rims so thought I would try to help set things up for the people on this board. With Primitive Racing already importing the springs from Australia they did show some interest in importing these wheels too; so that shipping cost should be a lot lower... waiting for an email response from them on an estimate per wheel cost to us. With the amount of people looking for good 14" rims, with the proper offset and looks... I think they will make a good import.

comatosellama
I'm interested if my XV Crosstrek wheels dont work out with my 2" lift. Are you redrilling your hubs to 5x100?
sull
Are you redrilling your hubs to 5x100? No, I bought a set of 4x140/5x100 wheel adaptors that were made available here last year in a limited run. Been meaning to get everything mounted but still pending. It's my daily driver so its been hard to dedicate a few days to the project to make sure no issues (I do a lot of driving). A mockup I made... thornleyjacob
So some things to know: Paul Eklund from Primitive Racing is interested in doing this, but they are super busy. His contact information is: sales@get-primitive.com and yes I asked for his permission to post that here. They have a shipping crate coming May 30th via OCEAN; so all who are interested are going to need to act now. The wheels come in white or black. He will require a deposit of $150.00 - he has not figured out what the total price per rim is going to be yet. I am sure once we get this setup there will be more interest in bringing more over; but those that have been looking at the Scorpions and drooling for the last few years... its a way to get them basically. I'll try to get the information for his next shipment... but it probably wont be for another 3-4 months. thornleyjacob
On another note - I have done business with Primitive Racing before. They have been trustworthy peeps so far.
wagonist
Have you contacted the manufacturer direct to find out what shipping cost might be on a bulk order (though that will have an extra import duty attached to it)? I know a few who buy wheels directly from the US. Even with shipping (and sometimes splitting packages to keep the cost under $1000 so no import duty), they are cheaper than the equivalent rim from the Aus agent (and usually arrive quicker too > ) Edited April 17, 2015 by wagonist
thornleyjacob
Well those that want them fast and don't mind paying the cost of fast shipping - you cant contact "Phil Nelis" on Facebook. two85s
Thanks for your efforts in doing this thornleyjacob. I will be going with some other type which I plan to redrill as necessary. But these look awesome and so does that stout bumper on the brat in the photo. I respect having an appropriate bumper in place so when an animal darts in front of the vehicle it isn't damaged much or at all (friggin sweet). That's smart and practical. Thanks again and Cheers, Aaron

thornleyjacob
Still trying... the alternate, if you are really interested is to contact Phil Nelis on Facebook and pay the higher cost of shipping from him directly.
thornleyjacob
Just got word from Primitive Racing and they have moved forward on this a bit and are trying to nail down pricing from Phil in Australia now. Once done they will know better but I was just told, trying to confirm, CostOf4Wheels + ~$200.00 Freight (not sure if that estimate includes shipping here in the states or just the freight to get them here from Australia). Will let you know more when I know more.
