StarckMad Posted May 7, 2015 Share Posted May 7, 2015 Just replaced the alternator on the SVX. I thought I Loosened the belt tensioner but still had to pry the belt off. montana tom Posted May 7, 2015 Share Posted May 7, 2015 Stark: The tensioner on the alt is held tight by the 12 mm bolt that sits horizontal , after loosening that then you loosen the vertical bolt as well as the pivot bolt on the a/c side. The belt will still be snug but will slide off and back on. The a/c belt will have a similar tightening set up with a horizontal nut that must be loosened before trying to adjust the belt . StarckMad Posted May 7, 2015 Author Share Posted May 7, 2015 Thanks Montana. After "tightening" the belt I test started the engine and the belt squeaked..
