nipper
Which warning light, how many miles are on the car, what maintenance has been done on it
Rooster2
I am guessing your are referring to the check engine light. When lit, have the code read at an auto parts store. They will do that in their parking lot at no cost. The code will give you advise, as to what the problem is.
lstevens76
Even when not lit it should be storing that code. Pull the code, as Rooster said, and post it, that will give us the information to help you.
gar52hpny
CHECK ENGINE CODES FROM AUTO ZONE: 1. P0301 2. P0302 3. P0303 4. P0304 5. P0420 6. P0172 7. P0106 8. P1137 I look forward to hearing from you. Gerry
nipper
disonnect the battery for ten minutes, then connect it have the codes re-read. Lets make sure these are active codes and not old codes. P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected 420 is an O2 sensor When was the last time this car had a tuneup? nipper
And we need to know mileage. When was the last time the timing belt was changed (never I am guessing).
lstevens76
I would start with the MAP sensor issue + a tuneup and then go from there. It's possible the map sensor is causing it to run rich which is setting off the cat codes, but it does look like you have a possible bad o2 sensor as well. And as fairtax said, how many miles and when was the last timing belt?
